Men's Hockey

The men's section is steeped in history, with a lot of pride to be taken in wearing the blue and yellow. We currently have two men’s teams at the club, both are sponsored by Lloyds Signs Solutions. We train at Priestley College 8-9pm every Thursday, if you’re interested and want to know more, contact any captain, or get in touch via our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.

 

Men’s 1st Team
The men’s first team has undergone various changes in the past 100 years. From dizzying Olympic-level heights to fresh starts! However, has been a steady ship for the past few decades.

Currently promoted to their highest level in recent history, the men’s first team now play in Northwest Division 4 East. This means lots of local games, nice short trips, whilst still being competitive!

 

 

 

 

Captain’s Comments: Richard Cook

“We chuck the odd aerial, make the occasional stick-save, hit (and miss) a few tomahawks, attemptdragflicks and play some quality hockey. We also turn-up in numbers for teas, have regular socials, enjoy a drink or three, and generally have a good laugh. With the ultimate aim to develop as a team and enjoy the process." 

 Men’s 2nd Team
Our men’s 2nd team homes the nucleus of the men’s section; providing hockey to any returning players, development pathways for juniors and access points for new players.

 

The 2nd team currently plays Northwest Division 6 South (Central); meaning a colourful spectrum of development games being played, perfect for improving your skills and basics.
