Senior Squash
Most members just play social squash all year round and enjoy the friendly atmosphere in the club afterwards. For new members, there is always the worry about finding someone to play of the same level of ability. Our box leagues are a great way to meet new opponents. We run the box leagues for 6 weeks and then re-set. We typically have 44 boxes of 6 people with the top 2 being promoted and the last 2 relegated to the box below. Whilst there is an element of competition, no one takes them too seriously.
We also have a Club Night on the last Wednesday of every month which is aimed at connecting players with opponents. Simply turn up and play whoever’s there.
But if you want to try your hand at something stronger, team squash is a great way of playing competitive squash. In the winter, we run 5 teams in the North West Counties Squash League and one team in the North West Womens League. Our 1st team has been NWCSL Champions for the last 8 seasons and, through our generous sponsor Alan Edge, we are able to bring some of the finest players in the world to the club and you can watch them for free.
We have a fantastic 1st team squad. Heading the lineup is Joel Makin, current World No. 4 and fast rising star, Jonah Bryant current World No. 26. Come and watch and you will see squash played at its highest level.
But you don’t have to be that good to play in the League. We have teams in the lower divisions covering all levels where it is as much about the social side, as it is the competition. The 1st team play Tuesday evenings and the other teams play on Thursdays. The ladies participate in the ladies league on Mondays. You can see the fixtures and the results of all the matches at the NWCSL website. of all the matches at the NWCSL website.
Our Club Championships are open to men and women members and in which there are also specific age categories.

To improve your game, we have a number of qualified coaches that are suitable for beginners through to the top level. See the coaching page for more details. We are now running group coaching courses to target specific aspects of the game, as well as individual coaching.
