The first visit by the 1st team to Bollington Health and Leisure Centre and greeted with a supportive and appreciative home crowd.
Andy Whipp was first on again against Chris Ogden. Unfortunately, Chris had no answer against Andy’s speed and power. Andy won easily in 3 games. Next up it was Emily Whitlock taking on lefty Ricky Walters. Emily was too accurate for Ricky and all she had to do was wait for the error to appear, which it did, allowing Emily to cruise to a 0-3 win.
On the other court, Sam Wileman played junior George Lomas. Again, it was a one-sided affair. George put up a better show in the third game, but it still wasn’t enough to prevent him going down 0-3 also. A similar story unfolded on the main court where Adam Taylor rather crushed Rob Alcock 0-3 (above). One to forget for Rob.
Finally, it was the No.1’s, James Earles versus Lewis Doughty who used to play for Tame Valley (top). The first game was fascinating to watch – very tactical. No corners of the court were left unexplored. It was close all the way through, but James managed to close it out with a couple of good points. The second game was similar but the other way round. Unfortunately, by now, James was beginning to struggle with a pain in his shin. This took the edge of his game and Lewis capitalised winning the next 2 games 11-4. So in the end, a 1-4 victory for Warrington which was enough to remain top of the table.
