Crewe can be an awkward fixture, so we were not for taking chances. Leading the line was Joel Makin facing Crewe’s Jan Van den Herrewegen. As if to prove the point, Jan took a game off Joel – the only person to have done so far this season.
Playing second string for Warrington was Rob Downer who was up against Jack Turney. Rob took the first game but then dropped the second. Rob steadied to take the next two. Third in the line was Andy Whipp against Ollie Hudson. Andy edged the first game 14:12 but then took control winning the next two with increasing ease.
Dan Bradley was no match for Emily Whitlock who won in three easy games. Paul Chapman took the first game from Ameel Talib. But Ameel bounced back strongly taking the next game 11:1 and then the next two to make it a clean sweep for the visitors.
The added bonus was that Grove Park unexpectedly lost at Tame Valley to give Warrington a handy lead over Grove Park before we play them at home next week. Liverpool CC move up to second in the table.
